Location, Location, Location
The places weĀ stay are phenomenal.
******************************************
The sites are remote enough, and special enough, that you can enjoy nature and wildlife the entire trip without leaving our lodging locations.
******************************************
The jungle portion of your trip is an eco-lodge nestled within 250 well cared for acres on the banks of the Macal River. You'll neighbor the Don Elijio Panti Nature Reserve and National Park and you can hike, bird, or play in the river right from the property. Much of the locally sourced food Ā you'll eat also comes right from the lodge's large organic farm which includes chickens, tilapia, and a variety of fruits and vegetables.
Hummingbirds and toucans are a regular distraction in the dining area.
******************************************
The locations are different enough that it feels like two totally different trips.
******************************************
For the island portion of the trip, you'll stay on Southwest Caye in Gloverās Reef Marine Reserve. You'll travel for 2 hours by boat, well beyond the hustle and bustle of the inner cayes, to arrive at the remote atoll basecamp.
Youāll be situated between an 82 square mile lagoon known for its crystal clear water and over 700 patch reefs on one side and the Caribbean on the other side. One mile to the east, the reef wall quickly drops 2600 feet to create amazing wall snorkeling (diving ad ons possible).
This is the turquoise water of daydreams and a stargazing summer camp for adults.
You'll soften into island time and live more simply.
Practices, Lodging, and Meals
The yoga workshop presented over the first several days is designed to bring new access, tools, and awareness.
Yoga is offered in a way that is accessible and insightful for all levels.
******************************************
The subtle body workshops have strengthened and deepened practices for everyone from brand new yogis to credentialed and seasoned yoga teachers.
******************************************
It is still undecided if we will practice Exploring the Koshas, Vitality and the Vayus, or Moving Into Being Practices. Regardless of which practice we land on, you will experience a new way to connect to your practice. Yoga sessions will revitalize you as you explore novel ways to move and experience your body.Ā
You'll have continuity and momentum with your yoga practice throughout the trip.
In the jungle you'll learn new concepts, practice with props, and have solid flooring. In the workshop you'll cultivate skills for inner access and balance in a beautiful riverside paplapa.
On the island, it'll feel more like a beach drop-in class vibe. Location may vary as we find the best outdoor spot each day. Island classes are your opportunity to casually integrate and play with the deeper access you discovered in the jungle. Island practice time ensures that the gifts of your tropical yoga practice go home with you.Ā
******************************************
The off-grid sites will allow you to plug into nature for recharge while the locally sourced meals cooked with love will nourish you.
******************************************
The jungle portion of the trip is a full service riverside lodge with private cabins, 4 course dinners, an on site organic farm, and ensuite bathrooms.
Prices based on shared occupancy.
******************************************
Enjoy a little extra space on the island.
Single occupancy in 2-person tent cabanas.
You'll glamp in paradise on the edge of the Caribbean Sea with solar warmed showers, clean community composting facilities, and abundant family style meals.Ā
Staying at this location and playing on the atoll is a warm bath for the soul.
Adventure, Culture, and Natural History Aplenty
Sea Kayak, Hike,Ā Snorkel, SUP

The trip is designed so you'll get to enjoy transformational yoga and you'll also get to truly explore and absorb your surroundings.

Belize has abundant biological diversity and it is the most culturally diverse country I've visited in Central America. Most Belizean speak 3-4 languages!
The high quality guides at both our locations guarantee that you'll learn something new and provide insight into Belize's Mayan, Garifuna, Spanish, and Creole heritages.Ā
******************************************
There are ample opportunities for adventures in caves, on rivers, at ruins, and on the sea. There's a good chance that you may try something you never have before.
On the last trip, I discovered 3 new to me activities: I night snorkeled, kayak sailed, and went exploring through a cave.

Activity options available for the active adventurous through the casual and curious.
The trip had a good balance of yoga, adventure, relaxation, and cultural connection. We did a lot in those 9 days!! When I got back to Sweden it felt like I had been away for at least 3 weeks. We had a great flow!! Yes! But I feel stronger and more relaxed after the trip. Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā - Ulrika C. (Panama 2018)
This is a have your cake and eat it too trip!
Leigh has a graceful way of listening and explaining so that everyone participating feels that they get the best of all the information she has to share. The laughter and fun make her classes so great to be a part of. She is an exceptional teacher.
Since practicing with Leigh my yoga practice has taken a transformative shift in movement and alignment. She is a wonderful, thoughtful, engaged and observant teacher. Leigh teaches with passion and possesses a vast knowledge of anatomy, physiology, philosophy, yoga history, and ethics.
One of the beautiful ways Leigh teaches yoga is she is really guiding you how to care for yourself. She wants you to be independent and encourages you to practice on your own, but is always right there to help with any questions, adjustments and recommendations.
It amazes me how she can cue (down to the toes) and improve the energy, grounding and alignment in my practice. Leigh not only knows the asana, but knows how to apply anatomy, alignment, energetics, muscle contractions and mindfulness into the pose. Her classes have a "wholeness" feel, where she intertwines the eight limbs of yoga.
Leigh teaches with a straightforward knowledgeable grace. Her presence and ability to explain each pose, offering visual adjustments as well as physical, really helped me bring my practice into a very connected and internal space. I felt empowered and exhausted after our wonderful yoga weekend.
Yoga has renewed my love for my body. I have taken several of Leigh's classes, and at the end of every session I feel stronger and more confident. I am amazed at what my body can do, and Leigh gently encourages us to believe in our own strength. I look forward to my yoga class all week.
It is clear Leigh has a passion and deep love for learning about keeping the body healthy and thriving for the whole life span, and sharing her knowledge in a relatable way. Something that stood out to me was how humble she was while sharing this life changing way of moving. It was so powerful and present in my body.
We are so fortunate to have a yoga instructor of Leigh's caliber in a town as small as Valdez. I really appreciate her attention to form during class, making sure that the poses do not lead to injury, while still offering opportunities for further challenge and focus. My practice has improved tremendously with her help!
Because she teaches and reinforces the correct posture in each class, over time, you begin to know what to focus on before she even reminds you. Leigh walks around during class and will 'correct' or realign our posture to the correct stance.
Best yoga instructor ever! Love the fine tune verbal cues that assist you in getting the most out of your practice.
